(Group tickets are a lot cheaper than individual tickets so try and travel in a group) Linlithgow is a lovely historic town about 20 minutes by train from Waverly Station, Edinburgh. My contact at the centre was Mr Ronnie Bamberry, with whom I booked our visit to include a Highland Games competition. I was so lucky to find the Kingsfield Golf Centre, Linlithgow. There were two stags in the party, and as a request from them I did some research in relation to having some fun and frolics on the Saturday, just to make sure we left the pub. Just recovering from a wonderful lad’s stag weekend in Edinburgh. The opinion of our group was to return next year hopefully a bit earlier. Following the golf we had a soup and sandwich lunch prepared and served by Jane who looks after the catering in the excellent club house. If I had one comment to make it would involve cutting the heavy rough considerably shorter and planting trees in strategical positions along these areas, it would speed up play and create a different challenge to the players especially on a day like we had with the wind altering the line of flight of your ball and fewer lost balls.
Some at differing lengths and some from a different angles, this adds to the challenge faced by the golfers. The course has a good mix of interesting holes, 9 holes with 18 different tees (white & yellow)two for every hole.
We started of with tea or coffee and a bacon roll before our round. The course following a period of rather wet weather was in excellent condition in the circumstance. None of our group had play there previously. Nine of our Seniors golf team played over the course in a day of lite rain showers and strong winds. Our New Fabulous Golfers Steak Experience combines A Fabulous Kingsfield Golf Experience and A Fabulous Steak Experience Lunch at the nearby Michelin Star Champany Inn with a complimentary miniature of Glengoyne Malt, for just £65. Our Tee Caddie Coffee Shop provides light meals, snacks and light refreshments. Our Kingsfield Events Team provide varied activities including Laser Clay Shooting,Archery,Highland Games, Adventure Golf and Mountain Bike Hire and Trails for groups or Corporate Events. Our Taylor Made Performance Centre is the only one of its kind in Scotland. We organise Corporate Golf and Activity Days, offer PGA Golf Tuition via our 7 on site Golf Professionals, 9 Hole USGA Golf Course,20 Practice Bays, Short Game Area and Ochils 18 Hole Family Putting Green. We offer Pay as You Play opportunities as well as encouraging Golf Memberships.
